This beautiful and timeless Sapphire and Diamond engagement tells it's story through it's hallmarks. All of the stones are natural and original to the ring. This is truly a collector's piece of jewellery.
The ring is stamped on the inside of the shank for metal purity and manufacturer's trademark. The manufacturer has the trademark B Ltd. Not much is known about them but their hallmark has been seen on jewellery, fobs and luxury items since 1895 to 1905.
The purity hallmarks are as follows: Crown 18 / Anchor / X
The crown and 18 indicates that this ring was hallmarked prior to 1975. It is 18 carat yellow gold. The anchor indicates that the ring was assayed in Birmingham. The X stamp indicates that the ring was hallmarked in 1897.
The stones are all original to the ring and all natural earth mined stones. Often in antique rings the stones are lost and replaced so this ring was truly loved and cherished.
