This sweet Art Deco ring is a wonderful design and would make a wonderful promise or engagement ring. The ring was probably originally set with a diamond, however the centre stone is now a Sphene .
The stone still has a nice flash and it's an unusual stone to have set in a ring - it is often called a collector's stone as it is not a stone that should be worn everyday.
Sphene's relatively low hardness (5 to 5.5) and distinct cleavage make it a risky choice for jewelry. If placed in protective settings and worn just occasionally, sphenes can make a spectacular addition to your jewelry collection. However, shield these gems from impacts, scratches, heat, and acids (including sweat).
The stone measures 2mm round which is estimated to weigh 0.05 cts. The shoulders of the ring feature 2 single cut diamonds.
The ring is stamped on the inside of the shank for manufacturer's trademark and metal purity. The ring is stamped 14K - 18K BLUERIVER. Blue river is the manufacturer's trademark.
