This lovely ring evokes a time of elegance and sophistication. This natural diamond ring would make a lovely engagement ring, or a right hand ring - the perfect accessory for either the boardroom or the ballroom.
The central diamond in the ring is a round brilliant cut diamond that measures 3mm round. The central diamond is estimated to weigh 0.10 cts. Surrounding the centre stone are eight (8) other diamonds. Total estimated carat weight is 0.20 cts total.
All diamonds are natural earth mined diamonds and are original to the ring.
Technically the Edwardian period lasted from 1901 to 1910, but in jewellery design we continue it up to 1914 and the outbreak of the First World War. The Edwardian period enjoyed lighter more intricate designs. Gone were the heavy designs of Victorian jewellery, and instead more elegant pieces were created, inspired by French rococo decoration from the end of the 18th century.
There is also an air of romance to this piece as the floral leaves on either side of the centre stone are shaped like hearts. The central diamond is also set in a bypass design - a design that is often seen in antique jewellery.
This ring is sized very small and was either a pinky ring, or for a very small lady. And well if you were corseted all your life (you'd probably be small too!) Currently the ring is a size 3 - but it can be sized to a 5.0 US max.
Although not marked on the ring (I suspect it was lost when the ring was sized) the ring is made out of 14K gold. The top is 14K white gold, and the shank is made out of yellow gold.
