Two Tone Engagement Ring / Transitional Cut Diamond / Art Deco Engagement Ring
This beauty is a romantic and timeless engagement ring. What better symbol for your love than this diamond engagement ring which has stood the test of time.
Diamonds were scarce during the war years of World War I and engagement rings from this era often featured the diamonds which they could find or older diamonds taken from older pieces.
This ring features a transitional cut diamond set in an illusion setting, with a yellow gold band. On the shoulders there is wonderful floral details with two (2) additional single cut diamonds that have such a romantic feel to it. The diamonds are set in 14K White gold and the band is 18K yellow gold.
The centre stone measures 3mm round and is estimated to weigh 0.25 cts. The additional two diamonds on the sides are estimated to weigh 0.05 cts. Total estimated carat weight is 0.30 cts.
All diamonds are natural earth mined.
Transitional cut diamonds are rare, vintage round stones from the 1920s-1940s that bridge Old European Cuts and modern Round Brilliant Cuts, featuring larger facets, a higher crown, and a larger table.
The inside of the ring is hallmarked with metal purity. The ring is hallmarked on the inside of the shank as: 14-18K. This is typical of the period. The 14K is the white gold, and the 18K is the yellow gold shank. The gold maker's mark is also present and it is attributed to Erwin Reu Co., from New Jersey.
