Early Victorian Pearl, Diamond and Emerald Ring / Antique Victorian Ring

You deserve everything that your heart desires, and your heart will dance the night away with this ring on your finger. It speaks of love, romance and gentle grace. 

This ring is a true Victorian beauty circa approximately 1840s also known as the Romantic period of the Victorian era. During this time, a new Queen was celebrated and in the 1840s she married for love. Sweet, sentimental jewellery was in vogue as were pearls and emeralds. The new Queen had emeralds in her engagement ring, and everyone wanted something similar. This ring would have followed those same trends. 

The ring is set with 4 claw set pearls in a creamy silvery grey. The centre of the pearl flower is set with an old mine cut diamond that is natural earth mined. It measures approximately 2mm x 2mm and is estimated to weigh approximately 0.04 cts.

Set on either side of the shoulders are two (2) natural emeralds. They measure approximately 2.5mm x 2.3mm. The natural emeralds are a soft pale green and do have minor nicks and chips, however the ring is in amazing condition given its age.

This ring is for antique jewellery collectors and not recommended for daily wear. The gems are set in a closed back setting, and care must be taken so that this jewellery can be enjoyed for another 150 years. For closed-back antique jewelry, avoid submerging in water; instead, gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap solution, using a soft brush for crevices, then thoroughly dry immediately, especially behind foil-backed gems, to prevent moisture damage, condensation, and tarnish, and always avoid harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners to preserve delicate settings and materials.

The ring is a size 6.0 US and it has not been resized, as the romantic engraving goes all the way around the shank. If you resize this ring, there will show an interruption to the pattern.

The ring is made out of 18K yellow gold. It is not hallmarked but has been tested.
