Victorian Ruby and Seed Pearl Ring / Antique Ruby and Pearl Ring

This beautiful Victorian ring is just a beauty. Many cultures have long considered ruby a king's gem. Not surprisingly, ruby symbolism and lore have many associations with power, wealth, and protection.

This ring is set with 5 (five) synthetic red rubies, and off set with five (5) white pearls.

The pearls are so creamy and unblemished and are great contrast to the pinky-red colour of the synthetic rubies.

The earliest known synthetic rubies are from the early 1900s and you can tell that these stones are original and old. They are not even and consistent in cut, one as a small table which is seen in early cuts.

This ring has a smooth gold shoulders and it is set in a warm yellow gold. The ring is hallmarked for gold purity, but the hallmark is 14K gold and is still visible on the inside of the shank. There is a manufacturer's makers mark which resembles an infinity loop, but I have not been able to identify who made it.

Given the age of the ring, it is in wonderful condition. The prongs are in great condition and hold all the stones securely.
