The ring features five (5) bright blue sapphires, and eight (8) white diamonds. All the gemstones are natural earth mined stones.
Each oval cut sapphire measures approximately 2.5mm x 1.5mm and the total carat weight for all the sapphires are estimated at 0.25 cts. The diamonds are all round full cut diamonds and they are estimated to weigh 0.16 cts.
The gems are very secure and well set. There are multiple prongs securing the gems, so you can rest at ease that you won't lose a gemstone
The gemstones are set in 9K yellow gold, and the ring is hallmarked on the inside for metal purity and manufacturers trademark. The ring is stamped GCJ which is the manufacturer's trademark. Following that, it is stamped with both the 375 Common Control Convention Mark and the Traditional 9K UK Carat mark.
The 375 next to the scales is the Common Control Convention Mark. In 1972, the UK became a signatory of the International Convention of Hallmarks. Member countries of the convention recognise each other’s hallmarks and would recognize the gold metal purity.
The UK Hallmarking Act (1973) updated the law for the modern era, and requires all gold items over one gram (1g) to be hallmarked. Hallmarking must be administered by recognised assay offices. The 1973 act removed the date from the compulsory marks.
This tells me that this ring was made after 1973.
