Diamond Heart Ring / Illusion Set Diamond Ring / Heart Band Ring

The heart has been used as a symbol of love since the 13th century, and expresses the passion and feelings of romance to loved ones. This diamond ring is the perfect gift for a loved one - it has three (3) diamond encrusted hearts set in a yellow gold band.

Each heart is set in such a way that makes it look like it is full of sparkling diamonds. However this setting is called an illusion setting, as in reality there are only three (3) diamonds per heart. An illusion setting is a jewellery setting designed to make a diamond look bigger than it actually is or to make it appear that there are more diamonds. This is accomplished by a ring of metal surrounding the gemstones.

Each heart is composed of 14K white gold, and the band is make of 14K yellow gold. The ring is stamped on the inside of the shank and is marked 585. 585 gold is labeled as 14 karats and is 58.3 percent pure gold. When a piece includes 585 gold, the rest of the item’s ingredients are alloy metals. Most of the jewelry marketed as “gold” is a gold alloy. Gold in its purest form is too soft and malleable for everyday use. Alloy metals (nickel, copper, or zinc) help harden the gold so it can withstand normal wear and tear.
