Heavy Silver and Gold Cuff Bracelet / English Hallmarked 60s Hand Engraved Hinged Wide Bangle Bracelet
This beautiful and heavy sterling silver cuff bangle is just as stunning as it was when it was made in the 60s.
Hand engraved and finished with a gold panels - this bracelet is still a timeless design. The bracelet is so beautifully hallmarked, and it is in mint condition. The bracelet is marked for both date and trademark. On one side of the hinged bracelet there is the lion rampart and the letter "Q" dating the piece to 1965.
On the other side it is marked CSG over &Co into a shield, an anchor (indicating Birmingham) and the letter "Q" dating the piece again to 1965.
The manufacture has been identified as Charles S Green & Co. The business was established in 1905 by Charles S. Green, son and brother of the managers of Charles Green & Son. He was assisted in the business by his wife Winifred, a talented artist who designed all the firm's early patterns. The firm moved in 1907 to Cogent Works, 54 St.Paul's Square and in 1982 to a new factory at Lionel Street, Birmingham.
This bracelet also has such a sentimental message engraved on the inside: "Olive Love Wayne June 8, 1967"
