Emerald and Diamond Ring / May Birthstone / Emerald Engagement Ring

Emeralds are legendary green gemstones that symbolize spring, rebirth, and eternal love. They are highly desirable because of their rich, rare color, their fascinating natural flaws, and a rich history of royal ownership that spans thousands of years. The vibrant color symbolized eternal youth, fertility, and renewal. Queen Cleopatra loved emeralds so much that she claimed all of Egypt's mines for herself to showcase her power.

The ring is set with a deep, rich, and vibrant green emerald that is estimated to weigh 0.60 cts. The stone is in an "Emerald Cut" that measures 6mm x 4mm. An emerald cut is a distinct gemstone and diamond shape characterized by an elongated rectangular or square outline, cropped corners, and "step-cut" facets.

The sides feature two (2) natural diamonds that are estimated to weigh 0.06 cts total. All gemstones are natural earth mined gemstones and are original to the ring.

The ring is made out of 18K yellow gold, and is the perfect backdrop to offset the rich green of the centre stone. The ring is stamped on the inside of the shank for metal purity.

Inclusions in natural emeralds are a beautiful, expected feature rather than a flaw. Known as jardin (French for "garden"), these organic internal formations give each stone a unique, earthly fingerprint. Far from lowering a stone's appeal, they confirm the emerald's authenticity and tell the gem’s story.

This stone does have inclusions, one of which reaches the surface of the stone. You can see this in the magnified shot, but it is very difficult to view when worn or with the naked eye.
