Antique Diamond Engagement Ring / Illusion Set Diamond Ring / Art Deco Engagement Ring
$500.00
UGC RIN-24-0007
This ring features an Old European cut diamond set in an illusion setting and set in white gold.
An illusion setting is a prong setting designed to make a diamond look bigger than it actually is. This is accomplished by a white gold metal surrounding and below the girdle of the diamond. This ring diffuses the outline of the stone causing it to look larger.
As you might guess, old European cut diamonds are cut in a style developed in Europe and popular from 1890 to 1930. The biggest visual difference between an old European cut and the modern round brilliant is that the old cut favors dispersion or "fire," the multi-colored flashes of light from within the stone.
Tapering from the centre stone are side diamonds. Art Deco is known for its geometric shapes and symmetrical shapes, but this ring is quite romantic with the floral leaves on either side of the centre stone.
The sides of the ring features additional four (4) diamonds. The diamond cut is a single cut diamond. The Single Cut is also referred to as the 'Eight Cut. ' This is because it is roughly octagonal in shape, it features eight facets on the table and crown, and eight facets on the pavilion. The Single Cut is a simplistic diamond cut
The bridge of the band is so stunning where you see the fine craftsmanship. The blending of the white and yellow gold into this ring is so beautiful.
This ring is not hallmarked but tests as 14K. The shank is Yellow Gold and the top of the ring is white gold.
All diamonds are natural diamonds.
The ring is currently a size 5.25 US (Can be sized for an additional fee)
