Art Deco Diamond Engagement Ring / Birmingham Hallmarked Circa 1936 Diamond Engagement Ring

$650.00
UGC RIN-21-0143

This Art Deco beauty is a stunning three stone engagement ring. It is beautifully hallmarked and it clearly tells a story of this stunning ring.

The diamonds are set in an illusion setting which is composed of 18K White Gold. An illusion setting is a prong setting designed to make a diamond look bigger than it actually is. This is accomplished by a ring of metal surrounding the girdle of the diamond that is often bright cut. This ring diffuses the outline of the stone causing it to look larger.

This ring is hallmarked with the maker's mark and for gold purity. The gold is both white and yellow 18K gold.

The maker's mark is H.S. This hallmark is attributed to H Samuel Ltd and they are still in business today. The hallmark was originally registered as Harriet Samuel, watchmaker & jeweller on Market Street, Manchester.

The next part of the hallmark is a crown and the number 18. This is to indicate that the ring is gold and the purity of the gold is 18K.

Following that hallmark is an anchor and the date letter M. This is to indicate the ring was assayed in Birmingham and in the year 1936.

The ring also appears to have the model number on the other side of the shank V1136.

The centre diamond is estimated at 0.10 cts and the side diamonds are 0.05 cts each.

Total diamond weight estimated at 0.20 cts

This Art Deco beauty is just a fantastic ring, and it would be a wonderful engagement ring or as an addition to your ring stack.

Currently the ring is a size 6 US
