Antique Georgian Pearl, Amethyst and Paste Ring

$780.00
UGC RIN-22-0154
This Georgian ring is a true collector's ring. It is in amazing condition given's it's age. The pearls are still lustrous and glowing. The centre features a flower with an amethyst centre stone. The shoulders feature two red paste (glass) pear shaped stones and at the end there are two additional seed pearls.

Surrounding all the stones are gold filigree work, and the shank is engraved all around. Due to the engraving that encircles the shank, if the ring was sized it would show the sizing work.

The inside of the ring is stamped with the manufacturer's hallmark and the crown which indicates that it is fine gold. The manufacturer's trademark is P.W.E & Co. This is attributed to Philip Woodman of Smith Street, Northampton Square, Clerkenwell, London. The hallmark was registered hallmark in 1857.

This is a Georgian closed back setting, so great care must be observed when wearing this ring, as if you were to wear the ring while washing dishes or showering, water would get trapped behind the stone.

One of the paste (glass) stones has a chip in it, but this is consistent with it's age.

The ring is not hallmarked for metal purity, but it does test as 18K gold.

The ring is currently a size 3.75 US.
