Dainty Vintage Wedding Band / Diamond Wedding Band / Promise Ring

This dainty ring is set with a swooping bypass or wave motif. The fluid overlapping wave adds to the rings construction and at the top is a natural diamond. 

Bypass rings are a popular choice for rings as they have a deep romantic symbolism that also adds to their structural design. It shows two waves as a visual metaphor for relationships that combine to one. This was a very popular motif for wedding bands.

This vintage ring is likely from the 1980s to the early 1990s.

Traditional straight bands can sometimes look static. The twisting organic, asymmetrical look of a bypass ring adds a sense of fluid motion especially when the light catches on the gold. 

Set in the top of the ring is a natural diamond to add sparkle and shine. The diamond is estimated to weight 0.01 cts and is securely set in a prong setting. 

The ring is hallmarked for metal purity (10K) and manufacturer's hallmark, however that is partially worn down and hard to make out.
