1940s Retro Spinel Ring / Vintage 1940s Gold and Spinel Ring

1940s fashion and jewellery has a vintage Retro styles that is very distinct and collectable. Jewelry designers during this period had to work around the little materials they could get because of the war. Platinum was reserved for the war effort so yellow gold came back into vogue.

The synthetic spinel measures 13mm x 10 mm and is in a vibrant and lively aquamarine blue colour. The carat weight of the spinel is estimated to weigh 10.9 - 13.18 cts. The blue spinel is not scratched or chipped and it in wonderful condition. 

The side stones are synthetic rubies that measure 3mm round and are estimated to weigh 0.3 cts total.

The ring features the distinctive Hollywood era Retro style that was distinctive in the 1940s. During the Second World War, mining for gemstones was a low priority, and thus large gemstones were often manufactured in laboratory settings. This ring may feature lab created gemstones but they are authentic to the ring and to the era. 

The ribbon details are handmade and crafted out of 18K yellow gold. The gold has a hint of rose gold to it. 

The centre stone is remarkable and almost like a pool. The facets are just mind blowing and in the sun it sparkles and shines as you wear it.

The ring is currently a size 7.0 US. It does have evidence of previous sizing.
