Art Deco Glass Spinner Fob / Fob pendant

$175.00
SKU NEC-26-0001

Spinner fobs are antique and vintage jewelry, popular in Victorian or Edwardian eras, that hang from watch chains or necklaces, featuring rotating decorative elements (like gemstones or seals) on a central pivot for a fidget-like motion, combining functionality (like wax seals) with personal style and often worn as pendants today. They serve as a tactile, symbolic piece, representing life's duality or transformation with their spinning action.

Spinner fobs evolved from utilitarian seals for pocket watches, becoming fashionable as accessories. They originally added weight or decoration to watch chains and they could feature a family crest or intaglio for wax seals on letters.

This Art Deco glass spinner fob was put on a chain and used as a lovely and stunning pendant. The citrine glass does have small chips on some of the facets but there is minimal scratches across the table of the glass. This is unusual for pieces of that era.

The fob measures 1.25 inches wide and 1.25 inches from the bail to the end of the fob. The fob is not marked for metal purity, but it tests as a base metal.

The fob is on a plated chain. There is a tag that indicates STG on the chain however it does not test as sterling. The chain measures 24 inches long.

Citrine glass was popular for it's stunning colour and citrine's lore centers on wealth, manifestation, and the sun's energy, earning it the name "Merchant's Stone" for attracting prosperity and success, while ancient cultures used it as a talisman against evil, snake venom, and negative thoughts, believing it calmed anger and brought happiness, love, and intelligence.
