Vintage Diamond Engagement Ring / Three Stone Diamond Engagement Ring
This vintage engagement ring is set in a three stone design. Each stone was meant to represent one's past, present and future.
In the 1930s, the great depression made engagement ring styles a little more mellow. Jewelers exchanged large settings for more modest ones, but the 1930s didn’t sacrifice on style. Diamonds were often enhanced by their setting, and set in a way that made the diamond appear larger than they really are. This type of setting was called an Illusion setting.
The central diamond is a round diamond that measures 3.5 mm round. The central diamond is estimated to weigh 0.20 cts. The two side stones are also bright lively round diamonds, and each diamond is estimated to weigh 0.05 cts.
Total Estimated diamond weight: 0.30 cts.
All the diamonds are natural, earth mined diamonds. The diamonds are so bright and lively and they are have a fire that is outstanding in the light.
The ring is partially stamped for metal purity on the inside of the shank. The ring is stamped 14k and part of the manufacturer's trademark. The ring tests as 14K and 18K, which is typical of the period. The top of the ring would be made out of the 14K gold, and it is made out of white gold, which would be a wonderful setting for the bright diamonds. The 18K gold, is the yellow gold shank.
