Irish Shamrock brooch / Rhinestone Green Three Leaf Clover / Vintage Brooch

$49.00
SKU BRO-26-0005

A three-leaf clover (often called a shamrock) is deeply desirable in jewelry because it represents profound cultural themes of friendship, unity, and heritage. Historically, it served as a symbol for the Holy Trinity in Christian lore, while four-leaf versions (a rare genetic mutation) are widely celebrated as a potent talisman for luck, faith, hope, and love.

The shamrock is a small, three-leaved clover that serves as the quintessential national symbol of Ireland. Its name derives from the Irish word seamróg, meaning "young clover". The plant has roots in Celtic lore and is most famously associated with St. Patrick.

This brooch would make a great addition to your collection to be worn on St. Patrick's day (March 14) to bring you some of that Irish luck and the green to be seen on that day!

The brooch is set with twenty-four (24) green rhinestones and twelve (12) white rhinestones to form a shamrock pattern.

The metal is a brass metal form and was most likely manufactured in the 1940s during World War II. During the war times, rhinestones were used a lot in costume jewelry. Precious metals and gemstones were scarce as the men who were used to extract them from the earth were fighting in the war.

The brooch measures 1.25" x 1.25". The vintage rhinestones are all present and held in place with glue.

This would have been a brooch typical of the period, where it would be a colourful uplifting piece to brighten an outfit and bring a bit of luck!
