Art Deco Pinky Ring / Amethyst Signet Ring

$389.00
SKU RIN-26-0074

Many people love to wear amethyst because of its calming energy. It is often used in spiritual practices and is believed to bring the wearer peace, clarity, and protection.

The word "amethyst" comes from the Greek word amethystos, which means "not intoxicated". Ancient Greeks and Romans believed wearing this violet quartz or drinking from a cup made of it would stop them from getting drunk. The most famous story comes from Greek mythology. The wine god Dionysus (Bacchus to the Romans) was angry and wanted to attack the next person he saw. He sent fierce tigers after a young maiden named Amethystos, who was on her way to pray to the moon goddess Diana. To save the girl, Diana turned her into a statue of pure, clear quartz. When Dionysus saw what happened, he felt deep sorrow. He cried tears of wine over the statue, which stained the clear stone purple.

This stunning ring will have you thinking that you are drunk and in love. The setting is made out of yellow and white gold and it has the intricate Art Deco details.

The amethyst measures 8mm x 10mm and is estimated to weigh 2.9 cts.

The ring size is small and was most likely worn as a pinky ring which was popular in the era. The vibrant purple of the stone would have been an amazing statement ring during the roaring 20s!

The ring is stamped on the inside of the shank for metal purity and manufacturer's trademark. The ring is stamped 10K (B with a T through it). No information is found on the manufacturer.
