Antique Rose Cut Diamond Ring / Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Ring

This antique ring is just looking for a new home. This antique ring is an old Georgian foiled back rose cut diamond with side diamonds on the side.

Foil backing was supposed to add more depth and dimension to the diamond. Typically rose cut diamonds are flat back.

This ring is more fragile and will require more care than other rings, both due to it's age and due to the nature of the setting.

Foil backed diamonds will presents a problem for someone who is active with their hands and for someone who is constantly in water or constantly washing their hands.

The Rose Cut diamond in the centre is lovely. It is estimated to weigh 0.38 cts, but it appears much larger.

The stone measurements are 6.00-5.10x2.00mm in depth. Some stones around the edges have been replaced by single cut diamonds, which are more recent in terms of date, and appear to be replacements for rose cut diamonds that have fallen out.

The ring is set in 8K gold, which strikes me as European.
