Sapphires and diamonds have always been a classic. To celebrate their wedding Prince Albert once gifted Queen Victoria with a large oval sapphire surrounded by diamonds on the eve of their wedding. The next morning, Queen Victoria pinned the sapphire to the front of her Wedding Dress and the tradition of "something blue" was born.

The natural sapphire measures 6mm x 4mm and is estimated to weigh 0.60 cts.
There are five (5) diamonds that surround the sapphire and are single cut and total estimated weight are 0.05 cts. A single cut is a simple form of cutting a round diamond with only 18 facets. Single cut melee were used in jewelry mainly through the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries. The diamonds are set in an illusion setting making them look much larger than they appear. The remaining whites gold surrounding the sapphire is an illusion setting, making it appear that there are more diamonds in the ring then there really is.
All the gemstones are natural.
The ring is set in 10K Yellow and white gold. The top of the ring is made out of white gold, the shank of the ring is 10K Yellow Gold. The ring is hallmarked and does test as 10K.
