Enchanting Opal in Matrix Ring / Cantera Opal Ring

This vintage ring is set with such an amazing opal. The type of opal is commonly called a Cantera opal which is a type of opal sometimes referred to as jelly opals. Cantera means “quarry,” in Spanish. Such stones come from quarries at Magdalena, Queretaro and possibly other Mexican locations.
The opal at types is clear, but as you move your hand you will see amazing flashes of red, green, yellow and other colours. You can see the flashes of colours in the clear opal areas, the darker areas are the matrix or original stone that hosts the opal.
The opal is set in a bezel setting and that is held up in a buttercup or belcher setting which was common in the Victorian era. This gives the ring a vintage look.
The ring is hallmarked with the manufacture's trademark which is cut off, and thus I have not found any information on the maker. It is also marked 925 in two spots on the shank. This means that the opal is set in sterling silver.
