Illusion Set Diamond Engagement Ring / Sapphire and Diamond Ring

This ring is an illusion set or what is better referred to as an invisible set diamond ring. An invisible setting (or "mystery setting") is a high-jewelry technique where gemstones are meticulously set side-by-side with no visible metal prongs or framework, making them appear to float or create a solid mosaic of color. Stones are cut with grooves and slid onto a metal rail system, creating a seamless, sparkling surface. 

This ring has a central feature of nine (9) princess cut diamonds that are set to appear to look like a larger princess cut diamond. The central feature measures 4mm x 4mm. The central diamonds are estimated to weigh 0.30 cts.

The shoulders are set with twenty (20) diamonds that are estimated to weigh 0.20 cts. The ring is also set with two (2) trapezoid cut synthetic sapphires.

The diamonds are natural earth mined diamonds. The two sapphires are synthetic.

The central element is significant as the number 9 holds significant magical, mystical, and folklore status across numerous cultures, often representing completion, spiritual wisdom, and the pinnacle of power before a new cycle begins. Known as a "triad of threes" (3x3) it is frequently associated with feminine magic, the supernatural, and the culmination of cycles.

The setting is very important in the jewellery industry The Mystery Setting (or Serti Mystérieux) is a highly specialized, patented jewelry technique developed and perfected by Van Cleef & Arpels in 1933. It is a form of invisible setting where gemstones are mounted without any visible prongs or metal claws, creating a seamless, uninterrupted field of gems.
