Stunning Art Deco Diamond Ring / Diamond and Synthetic Ruby Ring / Art Deco Statement Ring
I'm not going to lie - I really procrastinated in listing this ring because I really wanted to keep it. It's that stunning!
The Art Deco period was from 1919 to 1939. The style originated in France in the 1910s, and gained international attention at the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris. Art Deco was a popular design style that influenced visual arts, architecture, and product design. It was characterized by sleek geometric or stylized forms.
Synthetic stones such as lab created rubies or sapphires were popular in Art Deco jewelry because they were plentiful than natural stones and often rivaled their brilliance. The intricate designs of many of the jewelry pieces often also required colour consistency or flawless clarity. Synthetic stones were able to provide that and was then used often as accent stones.
This ring is an authentic Art Deco ring with all of the original stones. The diamonds are earth mined diamonds, and the calibre cut rubies are man made.
The top of the ring is made out of platinum, and the shank of the ring is made out of 18K yellow gold. This ring is beautiful even on the underside and side of the shank. It has light engravings and is so detailed.
The ring is not marked for metal purity or manufacturer's mark but it tests as gold with a platinum top.
