Art Deco Diamond Engagement Ring / Vintage Diamond Engagement Ring / 0.30 cts Diamond Ring

After the devastation of World War I, the Art Deco era became a whirlwind of free spirited living this lifted everybody’s spirits. This period is widely remembered for its cocktail-sipping, fringe-shaking flappers, its jazz and its Great Gatsby-esque lifestyle. It’s also known for its spectacular, bold jewellery. In fact, the styles of Art Deco jewellery are still widely imitated today.

This ring is a late Art Deco ring which dates from 1910 thru till 1939. The design of this engagement ring shows off the stunning centre stone. The geometric lines stemming from the centre stone makes it radiate and keeps that romantic feel.

The centre stone measures 4mm round and is estimated to weigh 0.25 cts.

On either side of the centre stone are six (6) smaller diamonds to bring more sparkle and shine to the ring. All diamonds are natural earth mined diamonds and are original to the ring. The side diamonds are estimated to weigh 0.06 cts.

I love the details on the prongs of the centre stone. It reminds me very much of the tall skyscrapers of New York that were being built during that era. 

The ring is stamped for metal purity. On the inside of the shank it is stamped 14K 18K HFMS. The "HFMS" mark is possibly a manufacturer's makers mark or the engraved initials of the original lovers.

14K 18K hallmark is very typical for the age of the ring. The 14K is the white gold in which the diamonds are set in. The 18K is the yellow gold shank.  The shank is still strong and secure and shows that this ring was very loved.
