Bluebird Art Deco Engagement Ring / War Time Engagement Ring
This stunning Art Deco engagement ring is so romantic. On either side of the centre stone set in hearts are floral forget me not flowers engraved on the band, will make this ring simply unforgettable! What makes it so special is the identifying manufacturers trademark very clearly visible on the inside of the shank.
The hallmark and the trademark are stamped on the inside of the ring. It is stamped: 14K -18K BLUEBIRD K3333
The maker's mark is Bluebird which is the Bluebird Diamond Syndicate out of Chicago, IL circa 1934. K3333 would have been the style number so that people can easily order the ring from a catalogue if required.
At the start of World War II diamonds were hard to source as many of the miners found themselves called into the war effort. And coming out of the Great Depression many did not have the funds for larger stones. So sweet romantic rings were manufactured out of yellow and white gold as platinum was commissioned into the war effort for munitions.
This ring is set with one diamond that is estimated to weigh 0.15 cts. Although small this ring packs quite the romantic punch and would be perfect for a promise ring or those who are interested in history.
The ring is made out of 14K white gold (top) and 18K yellow gold (shank) which is typical of rings of that age.
Please note that the shank of the ring is thin which would be consistent for the age of the ring. However the ring still has a lot of life in it still.
